Forged from O1 oil-hardened tool steel — a classic high-carbon steel beloved by knife makers for generations — The Nighthawk delivers a blade of exceptional sharpness, fine grain structure, and outstanding edge retention. O1 steel takes one of the keenest edges of any tool steel available, making it the choice of craftsmen and cowboys who demand precision from their blade. Shaped in the wide, strong bull cutter profile, it's built for the demanding work of the ranch without sacrificing an ounce of refinement. At a commanding 8 inches overall, The Nighthawk strikes with authority.
The Handle
Fitted with a handle of premium Wenge wood, this knife is as visually dramatic as it is functional. Wenge is one of the darkest, most striking hardwoods in the world — deep espresso-brown to near-black tones with tight, straight grain and a natural luster that seems to absorb the light around it. Exceptionally dense and naturally resistant to moisture and wear, Wenge develops a smooth, almost silky feel in the hand over time. A handle as dark and purposeful as the knife it belongs to.

Forged by hand
How Your Knife Is Made
Every blade starts as a stack of loose steel and ends in the quench. Seven steps, no shortcuts, all of it done by hand in our shop.

Stacking the steel
It starts as loose plates on a bench. Alternating layers are cut, cleaned and stacked by hand — the pattern in your finished blade is decided right here, before anything gets hot.

Squared and clamped
The stack is squared up and locked down tight. If the layers shift now the weld fails later — so this step gets more patience than it looks like it deserves.

Into the forge
The billet goes into the fire and comes up to welding heat — bright orange, right at the edge of what the steel will take. Judged by eye and by colour, the way it has always been done.

Setting the weld
Under the press the layers are driven together until they stop being separate pieces of steel. One solid bar now — no glue, no filler, nothing holding it together but the weld.

Hammered to shape
Back to the anvil. The bar is drawn out and the blade and tang are hammered in, one heat at a time. The shape comes off the hammer rather than out of a machine — which is why no two ever come out identical.

Cutting the profile
Once it has cooled, the profile is cut and the bevels ground in by hand. This is where a bar of steel finally starts looking like the knife you ordered.

The quench
Hot steel straight into oil. The blade hardens in a few seconds, and once it is cleaned up and etched, the pattern you stacked back at step one finally shows itself.
